We continue to try and attract people into golf, and if possible into clubs.
There are a couple of pointers as to what works well, (and could work well) and these are as follows:

Golf Roots are hosting a workshop for clubs to get more understanding in successfully creating links with schools and a successful pathway from school coaching into club golf.

Manor House hosted a Christmas open day and invited local schools and residents to come along to their open evening.
The evening gave people the chance to view the clubs facilities and membership offers. The partnership attended the event with our indoor inflatable giving everyone a chance to try golf out in the warm!
Over 40 people of all ages attended the open evening. With great success Manor House are running another open day on the 29th January.

The merger of the English Golf Union (EGU) and the English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) was approved today (16 November 2011) at simultaneous general meetings of both organisations
The merger will come into effect on 1 January 2012 and will create England Golf, one national governing body to represent all amateur golfers in England.

The new 2011/2012 coach development programme has now been released. We have many courses that offer CPD points and gain further knowledge in coaching techniques and much more.

Having qualified regionally, the Wiltshire team took on the cream of English amateur golf and triumphed in a dramatic final at Ganton despite being the smallest of participating counties, a feat never before achieved in their 87-year history.

Tidworth Garrison Golf Club held a taster session for the army personnel in the surrounding area. The day was a great success.

Following on from the County Golf Union's inaugural Charity Fun Raising event for the On-Course Foundation, the Golf Partnership organised 4 hours of coaching for players with disabilities.

Jessica Illes from North Wilts Golf Club has qualified for the final of the National Skills Challenge. After attending the South West Regional Final at Farrington Golf Club on the 4th August and finishing highest in her age group she will now be attending the National Final at Woodhall Spa on the 10th September.

After an amazing week of golf Wiltshire win the individual and team Strokeplay Championships and 4 of their 5 matchplay series to win the Matchplay Shield at Saunton in the South West Championship week.
